🎨 Dr. Prabha Panth is a Bangalore-based artist whose journey into painting began after a 35-year career teaching Economics at Osmania University, Hyderabad. Following her retirement, she returned to her first love: Art. A three-month course at Siri Art Institute in Hyderabad marked the beginning of her journey as an artist, which she continues after moving to Bangalore.

🌟 At SIRI Institute, she learned a unique Mixed Media art technique—painting with acrylics on sand-based canvas. She has specialized in this technique to create striking three-dimensional sculptures, temples, and landscapes, where the natural texture of sand mirrors the stone itself. Iconic sculptures, temple pillars, and intricate carvings appear to rise from the canvas as if sculptured, rather than painted. As light falls on the textured surface, it creates subtle shadows, giving each piece a tangible realistic image of the subject.

🏛️ Dr. Panth draws inspiration from the wealth of India's architectural and sculptural heritage, believing that these remarkable sites should be accessible to everyone, including those who may not have the opportunity to visit them in person. Through her paintings, she seeks to bring the beauty and presence of these ancient masterpieces into people's homes, allowing them to be appreciated and enjoyed in everyday surroundings. Her subjects are inspired by the rich legacy of Indian temple art—from the intricate sculptures of the Hoysalas to majestic gopurams and serene forms of the Buddha.

❤️ Her art is dedicated to service; she paints for charity and donates the entire proceeds of her paintings to various charities, chiefly the National Association for the Blind, Bangalore. For her, art is a medium of compassion—a way to ensure that her creativity brings light to the lives of those who live without sight. Each of her paintings is therefore more than a work of art; it is a piece of heritage rendered with a unique technique and created with a deep sense of humanity.

🏆 Dr. Panth has received numerous awards for her works in online art competitions, including a Gold Position in a competition by Artecious Art Gallery (2021), a Gold Medal from Creative Art Affairs (2021), a Gold Medal from Art University (2023), and a Gold Medal from the Tirupathi Art Society (2023). Since 2023, she has exhibited her work at the All India Annual HAAT of Art Exhibition at Jaya Mahal Palace and the All India Indian Art Festival at Palace Grounds, Bangalore.
