Belonging to one of the last surviving generations of traditional Likhai artisans, he is dedicated to preserving and promoting this rare heritage craft through his exceptional craftsmanship and unwavering passion.

Trained rigorously under the guidance of the late Ganga Ram, a highly respected master craftsman, Lalit has mastered the intricate art of carving traditional Kumaoni designs into wood with remarkable precision. For him, Likhai is more than a profession—it's a lifelong passion. As Lalit says, he "forgets the whole world" whenever he is immersed in carving, finding purpose, peace, and fulfillment through this timeless art form.

Today, Lalit creates authentic handcrafted wooden artworks that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kumaon while keeping this centuries-old tradition alive for future generations.
